Acting

Dear Model,

Thank you for taking the courage to submit yourself for this project.  Below are a few details about the novel I am publishing.  First off you can always keep track of my work by going to my official author website at http://www.tschombert.com.

The story is a nonfiction romance novel about a boy that goes to high school and is seduced by his English Teach, while the rest of the school thinks that the French teacher is the key target.  Despite all of his secret interludes, Thomas must find a way to keep his secret romance for his teacher a secret from his girlfriend who is found out to be having an affair of her own with her soccer coach.

I am looking for three key models.

·         Ms. Peamonté—the French teacher that always instructs in a very tight silk blouse, a stunningly short and tight mini skirt and high heels.  Ms. Peamonté character has some of the most amazing legs and must reflect this.

·         Ms. Ox Worth—the English teacher although the same age as Ms. Peamonté, covers herself from head to toe, only to be reveal one of the most sexiest, softest, most luscious bodies to ever turn on Thomas in his life; making it literally an addition to Thomas as he is pulled into a love triangle between two women as he lies to his girlfriend and tries to have a normal life.

·         Karen—Thomas’s girlfriend is cute and athletic, but naive to say the very least.  She is conniving and manipulative to get what she wants and has been lying to Thomas from the start of their relationship since she was having an affair with a married man (her soccer coach).

What is needed is for you the model to choose one character and submit your photos via email referencing that character in your email.

The French teacher photo has her sitting on the front of desk in her outfit with her legs crossed and teaching her sexual education class.

The English teacher is standing at the chalkboard with a floor length dress that is form fitting and sexy, but light must be shinning from an angle to reveal her figure and her under garments but not so much that it shows literally everything.

Thomas’s girlfriend is a short athletic type girl that has her eyes on older men and plays the field of her young life.  She will be in a soccer outfit on a soccer field.

Once the photos are in, I will have them evaluated for production and then the winner will be sent a contract and information as to what is needed for the royalty checks from the sales of the novel.  Below is the information you will need to provide at a later date and time for royalty payments and the sequence of events leading to that deal.

1.      When selected the model is advised via the contact information they have submitted.

Name, phone number, age, address is needed now for the paperwork and submission process of your photos.  Photos must be copyright free and the property of the model and must be willing to release ownership to the making of the novel and the author’s purpose for advertising and others means to market the book.

2.      Paperwork is drawn up and sent to the model for signing.

3.      Once the forms are received back completed and signed, the novel is sent to the publisher for production.

4.      Once the production copy is accepted by the author, it is sent to actual print and registered for ISBN, LOC and put live on the web and other places for sale and availability in book stores.

5.      During the process of production of the novel the author will enter the royalty breakdown and information about who gets what was agreed upon as far as royalties.  The publisher is the only one to send out the payments very quarter if books are sold and not the responsibility of the author.  These keeps the fairness of the royalties to each person involved.  Information needed at this time is as follows:

Full and legal name

Full Address

Full Phone Number

Social Security Number (for the tax forms, for the publisher, required for IRS purposes.)

6.      All minors that apply must apply to the author for the forms to gain written permission via signature only to participate and to send photos.  Head shots can be used for your first submission, but you must have parental permission to send and this must be reflected in your emails until you are selected and forms are sent calling for your other photos that are needed for the submission.  NO EXCEPTIONS.

NOTE:  All models must abide by the submission process to the letter.  All models must sign all forms for legal purpose.  All models must comply with the slander and defamation of character statues and must conduct themselves in a manner that will best promote the novel in a respectful and professional manner.  Any deviation on the part of the model will result in an immediate elimination from running for the cover models position and the immediate relinquish of right to your portion of the royalties for the life of the novel.

Author In The News

Follow up story--Former soldier in the news again.

Disabled veteran and now author of the trilogy “Diaries of a Soldier, nightmares from within”, Thomas R. Schombert has published again, but only on the opposite side of the spectrum.  In less than three years after his first book was published, Thomas has managed to relocate to his home town of Marana, Arizona, where he has published “Tunnels, what we did as kids.”  “Tunnels, what we did as kids,” is a hilariously funny nonfiction story about the secret lives of five young boys, who looked at child’s play as an adventure of life as they secretively built tree forts and tunnels one summer vacation. Hidden from the entire community until a great fire that nearly cost them their lives, you’ll laugh hysterically as you read of their collective genius and how they construct some of the most elaborate structures in the Arizona desert. Get ready to laugh till your belly hurts when you go on this funny adventure. Whether you’re an adult or a child, you'll enjoy this novel that allows you to escape from the troubles of today’s economy, if only for a few hours back to your childhood.

“Tunnels, what we did as kids” by Thomas R. Schombert; get it today through Author House or better yet.  Ask your AAFES store to book a signing for this author today.

Former Troop-Turned-Author Shares Experiences in Trilogy of Books

By Spc. Nicole Kojetin
1st Cavalry Division Public Affairs

“I cannot believe that all those people are dead. People I never even knew, but shared something in common with them all. We shared the freedom that those who killed them never wanted. The truth is I know what this means as a Soldier, as I stand glued to the television. ‘This means war for sure.’ Someone stirred up the wrong hornets nest this time.” -- Diaries of a Soldier, Nightmares from within

KILLEEN, Texas – The words of former Soldier-turned writer Thomas Schombert are from experience. The aftermath of attacks on September 11, 2001 brought his life into focus … his mission to the forefront.

Schombert no longer serves his country, but the scars on his body and in his mind remain.

As the memories piled up, the Operation Iraqi Freedom disabled veteran chose to take events from his life experience and nightmares and turn them into several non-fiction books.

The former Soldier served in the 401st Military Police Company that served under 1st Cavalry Division in Bosnia and after 18 years of faithful service as a military police officer, Schombert is taking advantage of the non-military portion of his life.

“The best part of being retired is that I am now able to see my sons finish growing up and play catch-up with the time spent away from my family,” Schombert said.

He is taking advantage of his time to attend some college courses and spending as much of it as possible in his writing space, which he considers sacred. Thomas started writing when he was 13 years old and has since written 68 products in a wide range of areas, and has no intention of stopping anytime soon.

“I was first inspired to be a writer by my eighth grade teacher, Mrs. Susan Hazen, at Dozen Middle School in Tuscan, Arizona when I was pushed to writing my first short story called ‘What Happened to the World,’” Schombert said.

He has three internationally published poems and has a trilogy of novels that will be released for purchase in March: Diaries of a Soldier, Nightmares from within; Bucket Head, the Illusive One; and Cannibal Boy.

The trilogy tells his story from life as a boy on a ranch boy in Marana, Ariz. to battling post traumatic stress disorder, depression, and how he healed himself.

He started writing ‘Diaries of a Soldier’ in 1989, and said that some aspects of writing are difficult.

“The biggest challenge about being a writer is staying within the reality of what your medium is,” Schombert said. “Trying to do or be too much makes for a bad writer. I picked one thing – non-fiction – and it has taken over me.”

With a wealth of personal experiences to draw upon, Schombert said he will continue to focus on real life experiences. He said writing fiction won’t be in his future.

“Life is hard enough and writing about life is boring, but when you go to the extreme and live the experience yourself, it makes for a different medium to write about,” he said. “Thus my motto, ‘I only write non-fiction books,’ whether they are children’s books, romance novels, or horror. That way, it is real and worth reading.”

Former Soldier Thomas Schombert works on his newest publication on his laptop in the park. Thomas started writing when he was 13 years old and has since written 68 products in a wide range of areas. With a trilogy of novels set to hit print in March, Schombert said he has no intention of stopping anytime soon. (Courtesy photo)

Author Rights

Author Rights

For many years, I spent working feverishly on "my" manuscript in hopes that one day I would be a published author.  Years passed and mass amounts of data appeared on the pages of the manuscript that poured from my head full of ideas that no one had thought up at all.  Pressing forward I put my intelligence, trust and money into the "required" sources of Print and Publisher services only to find that the these services have the market cornered and black marketed.  The monopoly ring runs ramped and no one is here to stop them from stealing the well deserved profits of the truly talented ones.  "THE AUTHOR'S"

Who stands up for those that created the work in the first place?  I published my first book with a seemingly perfect POD publisher service called Author House.  In doing some research for the second book which is suppose to be out very soon, I decided to go again with Author House for their convenience.  But not before looking up some very important information.  I found out the most troubling information about the market and these POD publishers.

Not only are they merging into one big one, but they are taking more and more of the authors work and requiring that the author give up more and more of the rights to the work "THE AUTHOR" create not the publisher.

When my galley came back for approval I was flabbergasted at the amount it cost to publish me work and what the profits to the publisher would be in regards to "MY" ROYALTY."  They publisher gets to take nearly an $8.00 dollar profit to my .69 cent royalty profit, for a book that only costs $3.40 to make.

Now I'm not to stupid to figure out that this is definitely wrong.  Having received my galley files at the last minute of the day by my design team, who in fact did not create the book according to the SIF form I paid to fax them with very specific orders about the creation of my book.  Instead they decide to slam it together and then I use up my one free recreate on the screw ups they purposely did in order to literally drive more money from my pocket.

I went back into my submission format just to see if they had changed my requested format given the fact that the book was 192 pages and it turned out in a galley to only be 102 pages, but cost $8.30 to create per book.  So now with the production of my very funny book at a literally HAULT and no production and no refunds, I am forced to find another dishonest publisher so I can get my work out there.

The problem I am having with all of this required publisher service and required print service in order to get noticed, is that no one cares about the person that creates the work in the first place.  When researching on the net I discovered, one can get their very own ISBN, LOC, and other things like a bar code for book stores and such.  Insert them into the book themselves and then submit them to a lightning house for fast production.  The prints are sent directly to the author and he/she are billed directly for the printing of the books.  Heck I even figured out how to create a book fold and create my own layout for MY BOOKS.  The problem comes in when the books need to be noticed by the INGRAM sites and others for online sales or store ordering, etc...If you don't use the required publisher, then the book never gets submitted to any online bookstore catalog.  Thus the round circles of the middle man that cornered the market.

So how do we break this vicious cycle and that the money back from these vanity and traditional publisher who suck up all our hard earned work and royalties?  I say we boycott them to death.  First off we try every angle to no use them until the very last second.  Then if they are not even needed do the work yourself and submit it yourself.

Many of us run our very own author site anyway to get noticed so why not sell you work on your own site.  Create your own audio books free of charge; create your very own eBooks free of charge minus the software of course.  Heck all you need to do now is get books sent to you for your customers and many print presses allow you to submit your own work in your format and they just print it and send it directly to you for selling, no questions asked.

So why use a publisher if we as authors are starting to feel the pinch and we need to become more creative and learn just how they do it anyway.  Heck, why use them if you do all the work yourself; a valid point of interest for all authors out there like me.  I have 128 books to publish and I can't afford anything on a fixed income as a disabled veteran.  I don't plan on ever getting rich, but I do plan to take back what is rightfully mine.

A PASSGE TO REAILITY FROM THE HUM DRUM OF LIFE

A clock ticked them running out loud the waking me from my slumber.  Just like any other day I dreaded fun myself awake yet I forced myself from the warmth of what little I had in order to earn a day’s wage from the stingiest of Scrooge’s.  A five cent cup of coffee a local diner on my way to work warmed up my heart as it looked about this vast city that fell upon me each and everyday.  Many walk as those zombies of the beast 666, with negativity of a possible mission in life, yet they continue on this path day in and day out for a meager wage.  Merely a handful of the millions among us one could hear shouting from the roadside in their positive ways of thinking, as if to change the world overnight.  The merely slightly educated who walk among those that are of a higher caliber and higher education, was sophisticated lifestyles wrapped around the beast’s finger, only plague those of us of an educated reality.  Although my obstacles seemed nearly impossible, I have found ways to continue on in this life.  Proving wrong those that have smite me over the years.  “You’ll never do that, you’ll never accomplish this, or you’ll never be who you think you’ll be when you get older.”  Yet years later, much older, wiser, but still young enough to learn.  I found myself able to prove them all wrong, and accomplish every single thing I was told I would never do or be.  Although I seem to have done it out of spite, it feels good to have been cultured and knowing that I did it on my own without those who chose to be nothing in this life.  Along the way I met with false encouragement, which only fueled my flame to accomplish my mission that much more.  Regardless of whether I was encouraged or not, I still did what needed to be done and moved on with my life.  Whether my words of wisdom are taken out of context or within context, I find solace in knowing that I’ve reached the pinnacle within my life and a comfort zone that I can say I’ve worked hard for without the encouragement of others.  In today’s society, people have become more or less hateful, disgraceful, unwilling, revengeful, spiteful, disrespectful, and just flat-out don’t care about those around them.  Only a handful now of those with good intentions stand among us, to lend a helping hand and give their words of encouragement, only to be slandered for not going along with the norm.  Although the frustration tends to melt the very soul of those within its direct path, society still moves along regardless of negativity or positive encouragement.  Have we missed the true meaning of real encouragement?  Or maybe it’s just that we’ve become a society of self-centered, egotistical, hypocritical, and psychologically deranged individuals that only seek to pleasure themselves.  Whatever the case, a passage to reality from the humdrum of life can only be reached through the will of the person who is willing to see past that which angers so many, but those many are not willing to extend their hand to help up their fellow man.  With exhaustion of the day’s work, I now lay my head where I had woken earlier this day, only to repeat it again and again, day in and day out, until my last breath.
